INDIANAPOLIS — State Rep. Andrew Ireland (R–District 90) announced that he has officially filed to run for re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives. “Last session, I was proud to help deliver major wins for Hoosiers,” Ireland said. “But there’s more work to do to secure Indiana’s future. Fighting for you at the Statehouse is a great honor, and I hope to earn your vote again this year.”

Ireland said his re-election campaign will focus on continuing to deliver results for District 90 and advancing reforms that prioritize public safety, accountability, and putting Hoosiers first.

2026 Legislative Agenda: Results-Driven, Public-Safety Focused

This “short” legislative session, Ireland has filed legislation aimed at strengthening public safety, restoring accountability in government, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used for classrooms and core services—not politics. Measures he has introduced include:

  • HJR 1 — Constitutional amendment allowing for impeachment and removal of state-funded trial-court judges and prosecutors for crime, incapacity, or negligence.

  • HB 1314 — Post-conviction reform to promote finality and fairness in sentencing.

  • HB 1312 — Stronger penalties for the most serious sex offenses against children.

  • HB 1313 — Prioritizing classrooms over political activities.

  • HB 1290 — Modernizing Indiana’s wage-and-hour laws.

  • HB 1119 (co-author) — Permitting carrying out the death penalty by firing squad.

  • HB 1422 (co-author) — Preferential hiring for American citizens in state institutions.
