INDIANAPOLIS — State Rep. Andrew Ireland led a coalition of Indiana lawmakers in sending a letter to Indiana University demanding an immediate investigation into reports that an IU program allegedly partnered with a so-called charity tied to the radical Islamic terrorist group Hamas.
In the letter, the lawmakers demanded a formal investigation, preservation of records, and full transparency from the university. They called the allegations deeply disturbing and said Hoosiers deserve to know exactly what happened.
Following the letter, Indiana University launched a formal investigation into the matter.
“Hoosiers deserve answers,” Ireland said. “Public institutions must be transparent and accountable, and we will keep pushing until the truth comes out.”
